I love getting a manicure but it takes 3 months for my nails to get back to normal after one. My normally healthy nails split and crack. I don't use fake nails, just polish. Does anyone know why this happens? I switched to acetone free polish remover but it made no difference.

if cuticle remover is used you may be allergic to that or to the polish if it has formaldehyde or toulene in it. there are polishes out there that don't have these in them. some chemical in the products used, you are either allergic to or your nails just become extremely dehydrated after using these nail products. you just might be more sensitive to them. what about just going for a manicure and then just getting them buffed? can you go without the polish just to see if that's it? you might need to try elimination to figure out what it is.
