Message: yes, silk wrap has acrylic in it. true gel nails are the only ones that don't have acrylic, but not all gel nails are really gel in salons and finding a nail tech who is really good at them is difficult. you might also be allergic to the monomer, the liquid part of the process also. what nail you have left under the acrylic is thin, weakened and unprotected from these chemicals, so your nail bed might become allergic also. why would you want to go through that pain and discomfort every 2 weeks? blisters and swelling are just not worth it.

Message: after a little research i found silk wraps to have the monomer brushed on them-the liquid part of the acrylic process. your own nail is still weakened underneath to the point of not being able to withstand an allergic reaction. i guess what i'm finding out is, there could be more than one reason or chemical as to why you are allergic.
