Message: the pain comes from blood pooling where you smashed it. you can heat up a needle and gently push it into the blood bruise and it will relieve the pressure and you might not lose your nail. i said might. it's not a sure thing, but it just sounds like you whacked the nail and didn't really damaged the matrix underneath.

Message: thanks for the response. to tell u the truth, i dont care about the pain. im ok w/ it, but i just dont want the nail to come off. thats all im worried about.
is there any particular way that you go through the nail w/ the needle or do you just put it through?

Message: doesn't sound like you will lose the nail, but it's hard to tell without seeing how badly it's bruised. first sterilize the needle in some boiling water, heat it with a flame and it doesn't take much pressure, or a very big puncture. it will take some pressure away and look better. or you could just leave it alone and see what happens. the blood will slowly dry up and grow out with the nail.
