Keeping nails polish free and using moisturuzers has definitely helped my thin, peeling nails -- that and keeping them short--- very short. I will begin working with clay soon, and wonder if anyone has any advice. Will I be better off using nail polish/n.p.remover to protect my nails, or simply moisturizing before and after a session with clay?

i would not use polish or remover beacause they will dry your nails out even more. you're really going to need to seal the moisture in when you start with the clay. the natural nails growth formula, from this site, has exactly what you need to do that. go read about it on the home page and you will see what i mean.
