Subject: acrylic nail removal
Message: I recently have been told you can remove acrylic nails by soaking in extremely hot water. I told this person this wasn't true based on what I knew from experience and from attending cosmotology school. As you can imagine it caused an argument. Can any of ya'll help me??? Is it possible to remove nails just by soaking in hot water???? This does not make sense to me.

Message: they are wrong. tell them to try sticking their hands in extremely hot water for any amount of time and see how it works. acetone is the ONLY substance that will disolve acrylics.

Message: YOu can remove acrylics with acetone AND a bowl of hO water. simply put the acetone bowl into another bowl that contains hot water. this will speed up the process!

Message: you are correct. it does work faster that way. that's probably what the friend told her, she wasn't listening too closely apparently.
