 Subject: Unsure about nail growing back

Hi,
I shut my fingernail in the car door a little over a month ago and they had to remove the bottom half. The nail is almost grown out now.
I'm worried because it looks to me like the cuticle is fused to the nailbed and i can see and feel the new nail growing. It seems like the nail would have to grow right through my skin for it to come out. I went to the doctor but he just gave me some antibiotics and didn't seem too interested.
Is there any information you could give me? Thank you

it's hard to say what might happen without actually seeing your nail. is it tender or sore where the nail is trying to come through? i would see a dermatologist, who is more trained in diagnosing this type of problem.
