Subject: great toenail removed
Message: I had my great toenails removed many years ago because of ingrown nail problems. Now I would like to know if anyone has any ideas of how I can have my nail beds look nice when I wear sandals. Can I apply a "fake" nail? If so, how can I make it adhere to my nail bed? Help!

Message: Mary Anne,
you could apply a fake nail, a plastic nail form, but they are applied with super glue on fingernails when most acrylics are applied. the entire premise of doing that is every 2 weeks when the real nail grows, a space is created and acrylic must be filled in. your toes, without nails, are obviously not growing a new nail. all you would have is a plastic form glued on to bare skin. the danger i see there is if you accidentally bump them and rip the plastic off, as strong as super glue is, it will take skin also. i'm not sure there is an easy answer. maybe someone else out here has gone through the same thing.
