i have some thin black vertical lines on my two hand and one foot nails. what are they? are they showing a serious problem?

they could be a condition called melanonychia.pretty common. it could be hereditary and also occurs mostly in dark skinned individuals, but not always. it could also be broken cappilaries. if you notice any changes in them, at all, see your doctor.
