Subject: Split fingers
Message: Hello,
Just had a question about my finger tips.
They crack in the corner of the nail, and they have deep fissures in them. They are very painful, especially in the winter. I keep lotion on them constantly, but it doesn't help as much as I'd like it to. If you have any suggestions I would very much appreciate it.
God Bless, and thanks for this valuable forum. It is a real help to all of us !

Message: I know this was written awhile ago, but maybe you still need an answer. I used to get this too, then I tried the "Hand & Foot Creme" from Deborah's collection. If you use this at least once a day your fingers will not split anymore. It worked for me and I no longer have this problem. Here is the website: http://www.deborahscollection.com/
I hope this helps you the way it helped me!

Message: First you will need to read the ingredients to any creams you may use. If it has alcohol as an ingredient, you are dehydrating the skin and creating further problems. Shea Butter, have you tried that?

Message: also look for mineral oil. not a quality ingredient. shea butter is definitely the best.

Message: Ugh, I hate these too and I'm proned to getting them in the corners of my thumbs. They are so painful and take forever to heal. Like papercuts they seem to heal from the inside out. In your profession, Nursie, it must be a constant battle preventing them in Winter. When they are painful I apply a litte Neosporin underneath whatever lotion I use. That dulls the pain a little.
