Subject: My first set of acrylic nails...
Message: Hello everyone...
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I
recently got my first ever set of acrylic nails. It
was the "spur of the moment" thing, where I
stopped in to one of those Asian Mall shops.
The nails are beautiful! they did a great job,
however, since they don't speak much
english, it was hard to ask questions..so here
I go: First, what happends when the acrylic
nail starts seperating from the natural nail,
(from the tip) ? I tried using nail glue, but
found it leaves air pockets. :( Second, if I want
to change my polish, do I use acetone or non
acetone remover? I had them done in the
French style, and just wanted to add a 2nd
coat of my own clear polish, but it didn't dry
nicely like theres, it acutually "cracked" on the
surface. I would love to keep the nails, but
they are not looking great now (had them
filled 1 time) and the seperation looks awful!
please help!! thanks......

Message: they shouldn't be separating. it was a shoddy job. if water gets down in the part that seperates, and doesn't get a chance to dry out, then you stand a good chance of getting a bacterial infection growing in there. it will be greenish-brown looking. if they did that bad a job on putting them on then the fill-ins are probably not good either. the worst part is, they took layers of your own nail off in order to put the acrylics on. use non-acetone remover on them to remove polish. i really don't know why the clear made the top of them crack. was it an old bottle of clear? use acetone remover when you decide to take them off.
