Subject: acrylic nail removal
Message: Hi all, glad to have found you!! I need to have these acryilic nails removed but the salon where I had them done just rips them off with clippers! It hurts and just has to damage the nail. I've had acrylics once before, hated them then too, how can I get the strength of acrylics in my own natural nail? They will be paper thin now and hurt like heck, but they are driving me nuts, any advice would be great!!! Thanks.

Message: Kimmy,
you asked, so i'm gonna' tell ya! ripping them off does damage the layers of the nail bed, sometimes permanently. soaking them off in acetone is the safest way to remove them. they are going to be paper thin for a while-i'm sure you probably know that from experience. reclaiming them is not an overnight deal. acrylic nails are formed using a chemical reaction between monomer and acrylic powder to form the ball. it was first used in the dental profession in doing crown work and repair work, so it is meant to be incredibly cement-like hard. your own nails are never going to be that hard. they are not meant to be. you can make them stronger, healthier and more flexible though. i could tell you to go out and buy lotions, creams, oils and hardeners, but it's just a waste of money when what you need is the growth formula sold on this site and to use it every day as directed. you do that and you will have healthy nails again. i've been using it faithfully since november, after acrylics, and i have healthy nails now. and no, i do not work for the web site that sells this product. i'm just a customer who got fed up with destroying my nails and wasting my money. i really do believe acrylics are destroying a large majority of womens nails in this country and decided to start voicing my opinion more frequently in hopes of getting a "few of us" to be happy with our own healthy nails and stop the acrylic merry-go-round. any questions you have i will be happy to answer.
