Subject: Water & Hangnails
Message: I, occasionally, develop hangnails. When this happens, I normally realize that in the days prior, my water consumption had diminished (coincidence?). Is it true that not drinking an adequate amount of water contributes to the development of hangnails?

Message: water consumption can be a factor, but it is more likely that your cuticles are just very dry. i would think your entire body would have to be extremely dehydrated for it to show in your cuticles. just drink more water and try some vitamin e oil at night and see how that goes.

Message: Lady J,
the darker the vitamin e oil the more concentrated it is. the lighter oils are diluted with oils other than E. it can go on a little thick, but at bedtime it doesn't really matter. my hangnails, which used to be very painful, are down to nothing since the growth formula.

Message: Hangnails are typically devolped when the skin is very dry, so yes, you are right. Vitamin E oil is fantastic for skin (especially for scar tissue) but failing that, any oil you have around (ovlive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil) will do. I remember using a cuticle oil that had both grape seed oil and avocado oil - it was awesome and it melted into the fingers beautifully!
