they are strips of silk cut and super glued on to a nail. then they are filed and buffed down. to remove them, acetone must be used to soak off the glue holding it all together. sometimes it all comes off, sometimes it doesn't and filing it off is the only way. one strong chemical used to remove another chemical. it's just alot of nail abuse we don't need, but women feel the need to do. i've been guilty of it too, but not anymore.
