Message: sweatheart, they shouldn't be putting nails on you at 13 and when they do they should at least tell you or your mom that they need to be filled every 2 weeks. when you peel them off, layers of your own nails come off too. that's why they are so thin and damaged. the only way to remove them is to soak them off in acetone polish remover. you can find that at wal-mart or a drug store. it takes a while for each nail to get soft enough to remove. it is a time consuming process. once you do get them off they will be very dehydrated, so you will need to keep them really moisturized with vitamin e oil or something that has a lot of moisturizers in it.

Message: You better believe it. It took my nails years to get right after I ended up with a thin coating of acrylic on each one, as opposed to cutting them all off when one broke, as I used to do. They grew GREAT, but it has been 8 yrs., and they have never been the same, but for some reason lately they are splitting something horrible, like never before. What is really got me stumped is a white place (like when you have damaged or hit a nail, but I have not) appears and then it splits where the white marking is, only it does not split across; it freaking splits up and down, now who can help? Message: I have removed my acrylics (again)! I keep removing them and then have an occasion where my nails need to look good, so I will have them redone, and then regret it. I also notice now my cuticles are growing wildly. What is the best "prescription" to recitify my thin, peeling nails and my ugly cuticles?

Message: of course you have thin nails after acrylics.everyone seems to just be finding this out.I just got out of school and it had nothing to do what they taught me, it was what I learned .common sense.I went to school to learn about acrylics to be able to apply them, and guess what?I will never use acrylics in my shop or on me or my daughter.I believe everyone with proper care can have nice nails, and people will think that your nails are acrylics.Thats something to be proud of and show off.taking anything away from your nail and then adding to Is not the way to go,but to destry your nails with these harsh abrasives and chemicles.

Message: i just don't get why people are ruining their nails over and over and they can't figure out why their nails are so thin, weak, inflamed and infected. what really bothers me is the discount salons and even a lot of nice, upscale salons disregard for sanitary practices. not only are people destroyng their own nail beds, the salons are telling them that they're not doing anything destructive, then using drill bits, files and sharp instruments that were used on the person before them. how does anyone know that the tech didn't cut the previous customer, draw blood, set it aside then pick it right back up. i've seen it happen. we're talking diseases-hepatitis, t.b., hiv virus that causes aids. an infection would be the least of those three! before any tech gets on the offensive here, i know there are some very conceintious nail techs out here that do run clean nail salons, but you know that you are in the minority. women have become so addicted to acrylics that they refuse to acknowledge what they are doing to their own nails and what risk they place themselves in health-wise everytime they go for a fill or a set. as with anything detrimental to our health, that we actually have a choice in, one person at a time deciding that they've had enough, is always a beginning.

Message: Cyndi Moore, the product sold on this website will help your cuticles and nails. I srart using nail growth formula a month ago, about week after removing acrylic, and I didn't cut my cuticles since. Tips of my fingernails are still ugly. I left salon with lot of pink spots from drilling, then after few days white spots appeared on the tips and started to sread down to cuticles up to 1/3 of nail beds. Bruses? Maybe. Fungus? Possible.I start taking acidophilus ang garlic supplements, and spots stoped spreading. Nail growth formula made my nails stronger, they're not sensetive anymore. Maybe white spots are just bruses and this cream made nails strong enough to resist them? I don't know. Still taking supplements and vitamins, just in case. I hope you don't have same problem. My new nails are growing really healthy. My nails need another 1 1/2 or 2 months to look beautiful. Right now if I need to go somewhere I use nail strengthener(nailtiques or Jessica restoration )as a base and cover it with nail polish.
You have to try nail growth formula, you won't regret.
Sorry for my English.

Message: sorry but what a total nonsense! Drills should only be used if trained with properly. Surely if someone has not been properly trained they are going to damage ones nails? Come on, when a tek is using an abrasive it shouldnt be nowhere near the natural nail, unless you are removing shine which you would use a 240 grit in which you would gently buff over once. When blending in a tip it shouldnt be near the natural nail at all. Common faults in amataurs

Message: Oh! If every tech in the nail business would be properly trained and folows the instuctions, including sterilization and using tools properly, this forum would never have so many odds about nails, damaged in nail salons.
