Subject: curved nails
Message: My fingernail on my left pointer finger curves downward on one side when it grows past the tip pf my finger. Actually it is also on my right pointer finger. Does anyone know what I can do to straighten the nail out or is this some sort of vitamin deficiency?

Message: It's not a vitamin deficiency. It's just genectics. These kinds of nails are very common. It helps to use nail strengtheners, but you must keep them on you nails at all times. You have got to keep them polished constantly. Very few people with this type of nail have gotton a cure.

Message: This is actually what is known as "Spoon Nail" and this type of nail is very brittle, so be careful whe nyou are filing it. It is common in people who lack in iron or are anaemic (sp?). Don't worry, you're not a freak, just make sure you take care of yourself, eat a varied and healthy diet and get plenty of sleep and exercise.

Message: I had this happen two years ago to my index fingers.Since then,my middle finger on my right hand has started also.I have been diagnosed with asthma and was told that when this happens it is a sign of lung disease and usually the nail that curve the most(rigth or left hand) means that is th elung that is worse. In my case, the doctor was right-this was true.
